- Each family will have the opportunity to lead a core routine and an activity several times throughout the year. This cooperative style of learning will be organized under the direction of the admins.
*This is our first year implementing the Hikers 11+ group. It will be full of trial and error. If you're not the type of person who has a tolerance for changes and being uncomfortable with the unknown, this is not a good year to join us.
**If it's your first time joining us, you must be at least 13 years-old before you can be dropped off with the Hikers 11+ group while the parent stays with the younger siblings in the Coyote Group. The Coyotes will have activities that are appropriate for the 11 & 12 year-olds in such instances.

- WHAT TO EXPECT IN THE HIKERS 11+ GROUP -
When we started Nature Kids Connect the oldest of our kids were only 8 years-old. It's been 6 years and the needs of our children have evolved.
Our intent in creating the Hikers 11+ group is to continue to provide outdoor experiences for our children to be with friends away from screens.
Another goal we had in mind was to provide activities that will push our children's boundaries.
Outside of hiking, the kids will be researching topics of interest and teaching each other the things they have learned.
For instance, at the end of the 2022/2023 year, the kids each researched a topic related to backpacking, presented their findings with the group, and are now planning a backpacking trip together.
This is our first year implementing the Hikers 11+ group. It will be full of trial and error. If you're not the type of person who has a tolerance for changes and being uncomfortable with the unknown, this is not a good year to join us.
