A fOUR-DAY NATURE IMMERSIVE SUMMER CAMP FOR KIDS
AGES 7 TO 14

2025 will be Nature Kids Connect's 4th summer running this camp. Over the years, we've noticed the children coming to our camp often start out timid and unsure about being outside. By choosing activities that are naturally irresistible to children, we are able to coax even the most stubborn indoor kid to enjoy their outside time at camp. As the week progresses, their sense of curiosity and wonder return. They start being more willing to try new things and they often tell us they wish the camp could go on at the end of the camp.

In addition to kids who are timid around nature, we've also seen kids being really hard on themselves when they don't get how to do a particular project right from the get go. It was heartbreaking seeing some kids being so uncomfortable with not being the best at something they've never done before. At Nature Kids Connect, we pick projects that usually take the entire week to complete. By doing so, these same children gradually learn that mastering a skill takes time. They also gain a sense of accomplishment completing projects that were initially hard to grasp. Through patience and time they learn they can do hard things.

At Nature Kids Connect, we use Coyote Mentoring, a form of stealth teaching where the person learning doesn't know they are learning. By leveraging a child's innate sense of wonder and curiosity we guide them to step just beyond their edge or comfort zone again and again. In doing so, many children who experience our camp often find themselves doing things at the end of the week they would not have done had they never attended our camp. For campers who return again, we notice a difference in how they show up the following year. They arrive on the first day with less edges, ready to take on new experiences we sprinkle along their path.

What our customers write about us

CHANTELLE BAILEY

My daughter absolutely loved Nature Camp. She got to do craft projects, learned about local plants and animals, and loved all of the fun games that they played. She had so much fun, that when the week was over she asked if she could go to the second session! We signed her up again and it was even better, because they didn't do the same things. Absolutely the best value summer camp she has been to!

According to the National Wildlife Federation, "connecting children and nature has important health benefits. In addition, children who spend time in nature regularly are shown to become better stewards of the environment."
